February

"The three great essentials to achieving anything worthwhile are first; hard work, second stick-to-it-iveness and, third, common sense." Thomas Alva Edison

Well it is February again, but this year I don't have that February Funk. You know that really bad things happened in February and those memories made February my least favorite month funk?

While my mom did die at the end of February and that will always make me feel sad, the other bad associations are gone! Finally. Steve chased them all away for me!

I came across this quotation by Edison this morning and realized that the path to true love was very much like the essence of the quotation. It was really hard work, finding a love that won't let me down, and who truly cares about my needs. Second I am so stubborn that I definitely have that stick-to-it-iveness ( I just love this word), I waited a long time to find love and thirdly, common sense, It really didn't take much to see how right Steve was for me.

So I welcome February with open arms this year. I am grateful for all that I have.
Now to tackle the mountain of debt I have acquired these last 10 years of single parenting! I will be like the little engine that can, I think I can I think I can!

Your post is lovely and made me smile as I thought the exact same thing yesterday when I was pondering on the subject of coping - ie. I think I can, I think I can. A lovely analogy.
