"Be open to your dreams, people. Embrace that distant shore. Because our mortal journey is over all too soon." David Assael Northern Exposure

On March 5, 2005, my son, Ryan Michael Morris passed from this world.

He was an amazing person, kind and gentle and loving. He had many friends.

For most of the first 8 years of his life, it was just him and me. We laughed and played and enjoyed life. He made me laugh every day with his imagination and his special way of expressing himself. We lived with my dad and my younger brothers, as my mom passed from this world when I was just 22 years old. I divorced soon after my mom's passing. Being the only girl in a house of males was very interesting. Ryan had the best role model for being a male in my Dad. He grew very close to his grandfather who he called poppy. All the grand kids call him Poppy to this day.

Losing a child is the most awful thing a mother can experience. I force my self to get up every morning and I breath, I go to work and try to stay focused. I eat and laugh and get through. But, Ryan is always in my heart.

I miss him terribly. He was 33 years old and lived in a town 3 hours south of me and I haven't been able to see him as much as I would have liked these last years. But, he was an adult with a life of his own. I have many photos and many cherished memories and I will hold him in my heart until I see him again.
